Abstract

The snow guard is suitable in particular for a bituminous roofing with strips of roofing paper. It possesses a snow-retaining part (1) and a fastening part (2). An opening (9) for driving a nail into the boarding of the roof is situated at the end of the fastening part (2) remote from the retaining part (1). Two pins (10, 11) situated at the same end of the fastening part (2) and bent approximately at right angles to the fastening part (2) serve for additional anchorage of the snow guard on the roof. Turning the snow guard about the nail passed through the opening (9) is not possible. Consequently, damage to the adhesion points between two overlapping strips of roofing paper is also avoided.

Description

The present invention relates to a snow barrier, in particular for roofs coated with strips of asphalt cardboard, this barrier comprising a snow retaining element and a fixing element, the latter being provided with at least one opening allowing the passage of a fixing member.

Snow barriers are known which are intended for asphalt roofs and whose fastening element has a hole through which a nail can be planted in the roof structure in order to fix the barrier. These parts can therefore move in rotation, which can lead to deterioration of the asphalt coating or of the fixing zones between the strips of asphalt cardboard. A deterioration of the roof covering leads to a loss of the roof waterproofness.

The object of the present invention is therefore to create a snow barrier capable of being fixed on the roof in a position secured against any rotation.

In addition, this fixing must be able to be carried out in a simple and inexpensive manner. According to the invention this object is achieved thanks to the fact that the fixing element has at least one point intended to be pressed into the roof frame. Certain advantageous embodiments of the subject of the invention result from the dependent claims.

An embodiment of the subject of the invention will be described below by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings,
fig. 1 is a perspective view of the barrier
re to snow
and
fig. 2 a sectional view showing the barrier
re snow fixed on a roof.

The snow barrier shown in perspective in fig. 1 comprises a snow retaining element 1 and a fixing element 2. The snow retaining element itself has two sides 3 and 4 and a support element 5, intended to be pressed against the roof and extending in the same plane as the fastening element 2. In the two sides 3 and 4 is stamped a long groove 6. In the passage zone between the side 4 located opposite the support element and the fixing element 2 two other smaller grooves designated by 7 and 8 have been provided.

At the opposite end to the snow retaining element 1, the fixing element 2 has a hole 9 located on its longitudinal axis and intended to allow a nail to be driven into the wooden frame elements constituting the roof. . At its end, the fixing element 2 has two points 10 and 11 of triangular shape formed by a cutting operation and bent at right angles to the plane of the fixing element 2.

In fig. 2 is seen in longitudinal section a snow barrier fixed on a roof covered with strips of asphalt cardboard. On the covering of the wooden frame 12 a first strip of bituminized cardboard 13 about 30 cm wide is deposited. The snow barrier is placed on this strip in a position perpendicular to the edge of the roof and in such a way that the fixing points 10 and 11 are at the end of the strip 13. The ends of the points 10 and 11 are driven slightly into the frame 12. Through the opening 9 of the fastening element 2, a nail 14 is driven into the frame element 12. A second strip of bituminized cardboard 15 is then placed on the roof so that the first strip is partially covered, and that the strip 15 also extends over the fixing element 2 of the snow barrier.

The two strips of bituminized cardboard 13 and 15 are glued in a covering position.

The snow barrier described can no longer, once fixed, rotate around the fixing nail 14, which avoids the tearing off of the bonding zones between the strips of asphalt cardboard and consequently the risk of the roof being waterproof.
