Abstract

The device for applying or removing e.g. tarpaulin sheeting for lorries, trailers etc. includes a spool (4) onto which the tarpaulin is wound. The spool is driven by a motor (6) and is equipped with a brake (3) to control the rotational speed. The spool is pref. carried by a frame (7) through which the vehicle can pass. It can move vertically in the frame from a lower position (9) in which the tarpaulin is wound onto or removed from the spool and a raised position (8) in which the tarpaulin is transferred onto or removed from the vehicle.
