Abstract

Protective covers for the front part of a cyclist's foot comprises a hollow semi-rigid moulding with integral ribs to straddle the pedal. The ribs have openings to reveal reflectors mounted on conventional pedal blocks. The moulding has holes to allow it to be secured to a pedal by bolts and/or straps. Claims transparent or opaque covers moulded from polystyrene, polycarbonates, polyamides or methacrylate resins, typically with a wall thickness of about 0.5 mm. Provides lightweight protection of the foot against wind and water: pref. the nose is strengthened by integral ribs about 10 cm wide and 5 mm thick, to protect the toes from impact.
