Abstract
Structure poreuse de polytétrafluoréthylène à structure microfibreuse constituée de fibres et de noeuds reliés entre eux par ces fibres, et sa préparation. Une face de la structure microfibreuse est fortement orientée dans une direction et l'autre face est fortement orientée dans une direction perpendiculaire, avec variation progressive de l'orientation d'une face à l'autre. On prépare cette structure qui peut consister en un tube par étirage de l'article de polytétrafluoréthylène dans une direction, chauffage de l'article à une température supérieure à 327 degrés C environ en empêchant la rétraction, et frittage qui conduit à une orientation plus forte dans une direction perpendiculaire à la direction d'étirage que dans la direction d'étirage. Un tube poreux selon l'invention peut être utilisé avantageusement comme prothèse vasculaire.
