Abstract

To eliminate the need for a separate temp. sensor connected to the battery and coupled by leads to the voltage regulator, the latter is mounted directly onto the battery. The regulator unit (14) can be mounted directly onto an extension (17) of one battery terminal (18). The temp. sensor can then form part of the regulator housing. The transistorised circuitry employed in the regulator permits the use of a live case. Two leads (35a, b) can then be taken directly to the generator field.
