Abstract

Elastic, esp. rubber, shoe or boot sole has intermediate layers, an integrated top layer of yieldingly flexible material, and a raised heel portion which has a peripheral progressively widening groove. This groove starts about halfway between toe and heel and extends right round the latter to the other side of the sole. The upper edge of the groove gradually passes tangentially into the upper edge of the sole. The integrated top layer is fitted into a recess in the top surface of the sole and glued or sewn into it. It made of supple, porous, soft material, especially strongly expanded, micro-cellular foam.
