Abstract
The signal coding and decoding system ensures secrecy of an audio message during transmission. At the transmitter a reference frequency is used to effect a frequency transposition of the signal spectrum. A constant bias of a pseudorandom nature is applied to this for a specified long period, using a locally genrated analogue signal. At the receiver a reference frequency is generated equal to and synchronised with that used at the emitter, using a locally produced analogue signal. This reference signal is used for the inverse frequency transposition of the received signal. The appropriate analogue signal may be derived from a dephased loop controlled by a local clock.
