Abstract

The trunk orthesis comprises a pelvis basket (2) and at least one further annular corset part (1) connected to one another by longitudinally adjustable spacers (13) which are resilient to lateral deflection. These spacers each comprise a tensioning element which continues on both sides in parts resilient to a limited extent, and end-pieces which are rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the spacer (13). This permits forces to act directly or indirectly for the correction of the curvature of the spine.
