Abstract

The tent structure comprises a pair of sub-assemblies forming rectangular walls and each with a folding cruciform frame. The sub-assemblies have top edges pivoting together, and each frame has a central hub to which four elastic struts are attached. These move between the folded position fitting together side by side and the extended one radiating from the hub at different angles. Folding components are stretched between the strut end furthest from the hub, holding them in their extended positions and curved like an umbrella. The folding sections can have a rectangular sheet of non-elastic material covering struts and hub, in linear contact with the struts when curved. A single sheet covers the two sub-assemblies.
