Abstract

The deflector mechanism may be used on a side-hung window and includes a tool-rotatable cammed-bolt (21) which adjusts the position of the light normal to the opening to eliminate play. A deflector bar locks onto the light for side-pivoting or at closure. The terminal mountings of the bar permit sliding and pivoting relative to the light, and couple in a 'U' section cantilever (7) from the side hinge fitting (2) respectively. The coupling includes a cammed-bolt (16) engaging an oblong hole (12) in the web (10) of the cantilever (7) and providing for axial displacement of the bar. The coupled end (9) of the arm is of a truncated arrowhead form with convex shoulders (8) and traversed by a secondary cammed-bolt (21) in a web slot (13).
