Abstract

The shock absorber consists of a rod (4) fitted with a thread at the free end. The bar fits inside a hollow tube (1) with a mounting ring (6) at the closed end. The tube is formed with a central sleeve section (3) which seats a number of rings (2). The rings allow the bar to pass through the centre. The rings are made from friction material and the rod has a locking pin (5) to prevent it from being withdrawn.
