Abstract

Foundry sand cores for foundry casting are in a device comprising a core, caster, a tunnel furnace and a table transporter provided at the outlet of the furnace to transport the core for subsequent matching. Appts. includes a double platform rotatable horizontally by 180 degrees, the platform having two pairs of half-moulds laterally opposite each other and separated by a vertical axis about which the platform is rotatable. One half mould of each pair is rotatable about a horizontal axis by 180 degrees from a position away from its neighbouring half-mould onto its neighbour which rests movably on the platform. Means are provided to disengage and lift this movable half-mould for introduction into the furnace. Further means are provided to grip this mould after exit from the furnace and to separate the core from the mould. Transfer and transport means enable the empty box or mould to be returned to the platform where it relocated on its supports. Device enables mould cores to be made quickly by mass prod.
