Abstract
A large blade has a symmetrical aerofoil section and is mounted vertically in bearings (3, 4) to pivot abouts is centre of pressure. The blade is hollow and there are slots (2) in its sides. It turns into the wind and the flow of air over it acting on the slots causes a pressure depression within it. The inside is connected to a channel (5) through the hollow shaft on which the blade pivots. The channel is connected to a venturi passage (8) in which there is a turbine (7) driving an electrical generator (10). The depression within the blade pulls air through it and through the turbine from the opening (9) of the venturi passage.
