Abstract

The clamping device has two jaws which are relatively movable to clamp workpieces between them. A lever is pivotable in relation to the jaws and has two arms, one of which is actuated when moving the jaws towards each other to tend to pivot the lever. The other arm is arranged, when actuating the first arm, to exert a clamping force on the workpieces perpendicularly to the direction of movement of the movable jaw. The first arm of the lever is located between one of the jaws and the workpieces in order to be subjected to a compressive force via the workpieces when moving the jaws towards the each other.
