Abstract

The metering device is for distributing granular or pulverulent materials in agricultural machines such as seeders or fertilizer spreaders. It comprises a fluted metering roller (2) and a cylindrical rotatable brush (13) whose bristles (10) extend into the bottoms of the flutes (3) of the metering roller. The bristles extend radially in a helical arrangement from the axle of the brush. The brush is carried by a support (15) pivoted on a shaft (16) and urged by a spring (17) towards the metering roller. The brush is caused to rotate by engagement with the metering roller which is on a driven shaft (11).
