Abstract

Dans un système de lecture de données destiné à déterminer la validité d'une carte de crédit ou d'une carte d'identification, la carte porte une première donnée se présentant sous la forme d'un numéro de compte d'utilisateur enregistré magnétiquement, une seconde donnée se présentant sous la forme d'un numero d'identification de carte enregistré au moyen de réseaux de diffraction et une troisième donnée se présentant sous la forme d'une représentation, enregistrée magnétiquement, du résultat de l'exécution d'une opération mathematique donnée sur la première et la seconde données. Un traducteur magnétique 16 détecte la première et la troisième données qui sont écrites ensuite dans les registres de stockage 24, 26. Un traducteur optique 18 lit la seconde donnée qui est introduite dans un registre 22. Un dispositif de traitement de données 28 exécute l'opération mathématique donnée sur la première et la seconde données détectées provenant des registres 24, 22 et le résultat est comparé par un comparateur 32 à la troisième donnée lue dans le registre 26, ce qui fournit un signal de sortie représentant la validité de la carte au terminal 38.
