Abstract

The unit measures the resistance of the skin and uses a flat electrode and a point shaped electrode. These are placed a distance apart, the resistance being measured using an electrical current. To prevent a continuous feed to the electrodes, and the consequent risk of burning, a transistorised switch is fitted. The base of this transistor (1) is supplied with a repetitive rectangular signal of determinate length, from an astable multivibrator (2) through a resistance (3). The transistor emitter is connected to the flat electrode (4), its collector to a control circuit (5). The remaining electrode (6) is connected to the same control circuit.
