Abstract

The clamps for assembling tubular scaffolding, and consists of two similar U shaped members (10) mounted back to back and held together with a rivet. One arm of the U has a rectangular opening (12) and the other arm has a U shaped slot. A channel section key(14) with tapered flanges is pushed through these holes to lock the clamp to a tube. The end flanges (17,18) in the base of the U have a circular contour to match the tube dia. and so spread the clamping load and avoid any distortion of the tube. The head of the rivet joining the two parts of the clamp als forms a third point of support for the tube.
