Abstract

The precision centring device is for use during machining operations. It comprises two concentric slides (4, 7), one holding the workpiece accurately in position, and the other carrying the tool. The slides can be locked together by a roller or ball (3, 6) engaging in recesses in both. A lever can be included, mounted on either slide, for cenring in a vertical, horizontal or inclined plane, or for machining or exerting pressure. The slides can simply work one inside the other, without any mechanical coupling between them.
