Abstract

The infant's safety harness may be deployed in an automobile and has shoulder, waist and thigh straps securing the infant in a special seat (5). Two vertical shoulder straps (1,2) are incorporated, sufficiently spaced to straddle the infant's head, anchored (15,16) at the top to the seat (5), and terminating in loops (4) traversed by the waist belt or belts (5,6). The infant's body is provded with uniform support and no buckles make body contact. Either one or two waist belts (5,6) may be deployed with one end (21) anchored to the seat and the other ends demountably anchoring (7,9) to points on the seat exterior. The tight belts (9,10) have similar fixed and demountable anchorages with the latter (11,23) also located on the seat exterior. Alternatively the waist and thigh straps may be a contiguous loop flanked by two demountable anchorages. The latter may be of the bolt (7) type entering a fixed socket (19) and inc. for belt length adjustment.
