Abstract
The boat fin is particularly for sailing boats, having a support attached to a main structure, securing the flexible arched flanks. The flanks are spaced apart at the centre and joined along the edges to form a symmetrical profiled fin. The curvature of one or both flanks can be varied to render the fin unsymmetrical. The flanks can be mounted on opposite sides of components working with the support and running in its lengthwise direction. Each flank has a joint extensible in the lengthwise direction to absorb the discrepancies appearing when curvature is altered, this alteration being controlled by a mechanism acting on the components joining the flanks together.
