Abstract
The aerosol has a glass jar (10), holding the spray liquid (12), which is screw into a cap (16) fitted with a diffuser (26) and capillary tube (24). Around the glass jar and screwed onto the cap is an intermediate cylinder (30) which is pierced by holes (34) at the bottom, these being covered by a rubber membrane (36). The cap is pierced by a passage (40) holding a ball (42) held by a spring (44) which allows air to flow from the bottom of the intermediate cylinder into the glass jar but not the reverse. The hand pump consists of an outside cylinder (46) which fits over the intermediate cylinder. A helical spring (62) joins the two cylinders and a valve (48) allows the aerosol to be pressurised by pumping the outside cylinder relative to the intermediate cylinder.
