Abstract

An optical system for incorporation into spectacles of conventional type has a shuttle action to cut down bright lights from e.g. motor vehicle head lamps or bright sunlight. It uses a polarising filter system. The polarised filter plates (1, 2) are constructed so that the left plate (1) may be moved in a horizontal direction. The plate (1) may be moved within a tongue or groove (13) mounted to the spectacle frame (15) itself. The right hand plate (2) is mounted to another groove or tongue (16) attached to the frame (15) in such a way that it cannot be adjusted or moved.
