Abstract

The unit comprises a hollow box- like body (10) in which is means (14) for centrally fixing an incandescent electric lamp bulb (16). In an open face of the body there is fixed a diffuserscreen (18) of transparent material which has a smooth face facing the lamp bulb and an opposite face facing out from the unit. This opposite face is constituted by a plurality of prismatic projections (24) each having a main facet (32) which, when the unit is installed, is inclined both with respect to the horizontal plane and with respect to the vertical plane. The inclination of the main facets is calculated in such a way as to direct the pencil of light transmitted by the associated prismatic projection towards a predetermined region.
