Abstract

This form of blind rivet is specifically intended for use in assembly of cover boxes, for electrical equipment, which need earthing tags to be attached on-site. The earth tag is drilled to fit on the shank of the blind rivet and is held captive between the rivet head and the external face of the box. An eyelet bearing on the internal face of the box holds the tag in position during assembly. The tag is made from electrically conducting material and has two projecting tabs, one perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the expansion pin of the rivet and the other at such an angle that when assembled, it projects away from the external face of the box.
