Abstract

The equipment heats or cools, continuously or intermittently, goods in bulk, liquids, pastes or dry material of any type, particularly of fine texture. It uses a cylindrical or spherical drum, cooled or heated, and rotating on a horizontal or inclined axis, the heat or cooling being applied to a drum rear face. The drum has a thin wall, with corrugations on both inside and outside. The drum wall can have folds forming pockets on the inside, and it can be driven at variable speed. It can be run at a speed high enough for the goods to be in contact with the wall on all sides, the drive having a brake acting periodically.
