Abstract
Hydrogen is introduced into a combustion chamber through a central nozzle. Oxygen is introduced through an annular nozzle surrounding the hydrogen nozzle. Water is injected through a primary atomiser surrounding the two fuel nozzles and through secondary nozzles placed along the length of the combustion chamber. The injected water reduces the temp. reached and so makes it possible to use existing known materials of construction. The steam produced by combustion and vaporisation of the injected water is taken to a steam turbine. The condensate from the turbine is returned from the hot reservoir by a feed pump to the water atomising injectors in the combustion chamber.
