Abstract

The non-woven decorative material is used as curtains or wall covering. It is made by applying a flocking to an adhesive-coated web made of one set of threads crossing another set at right angles. The adhesive is the only means of attaching the threads to one another. The threads are unwound from a bobbin, and passed through rollers mounted above a bath of adhesive then passed through rollers to remove excess adhesive. They then pass through a tunnel between positive and negative electrodes, where the flocking material is applied. The coated threads pass through a drying tunnel before winding onto a take-up drum. The flocking material is fed into the first tunnel by a belt conveyor.
