Abstract
The underwater scaffolding component is tubular, with elastic end pieces fixed to each end (11). A hollow spherical junction piece (2) with a number of holes (2a) in its surface accommodates in one of them a boss (13) of an end piece, and a tension device (12) passes through the tubular portion (1) and holes in the junction pieces. A locking device secures each end of the tension device to a junction piece, so as to maintain the latter and the tubular portion in a fixed position in relation to each other. The tubular portion can comprise a steel tube with a rigid cylindrical end piece carrier fixed to each end, carriers and tube being coated with plastic.
