Abstract

The film charging device is used for rectangular blank film sheets, supplied to an X-ray unit, the films being contained within a rectangular box, with an opening for insertion and extraction of the pile of films, which is sealed by a thin opaque membrane (3). The device comprises a vertical magazine for the pile of films from which the latter are extracted one by one and which has an upper rectangular opening (18) which grips the sides of the box containing the films, to prevent ingress of light, during insertion of the latter. This opening (18) has a spring loaded closure flap (16) which is pushed down by the inserted box. The base of the magazine has means for opening the sealed box comprising a series of fixed blades (22) projecting upwards. The films are extracted via a slot (19) in the side of the magazine.
