Abstract

A (partially) plastic sachet e.g. for contg. liquids has a mouth which is heat sealable or rendered heat sealable. Along the mouth extending from one edge of the sachet to the other is a reinforcing band. When a sealed sachet is torn open the tear line is localised along the edge of the reinforcing band. Pref. the reinforcing band is parallel to the bottom edge of the sachet. The sachet is simple to open. Both the sachet and reinforcing band may be of polyester film.
