Abstract

A vibratory hopper base (2) passing rubbish from the hopper to a screw conveyor (9) removing the rubbish is connected to the conveyor by a flexible joint (8). Vibration units (3) are fitted to the base (2) which is isolated from the rest of the hopper by means of flexible joints (4). The base is mounted on springs (6) and stops are provided to limit the maximum amplitude of vibration. The base can be adjusted in its amplitude and its direction of application, depending on the degree of feed required. The base is octagonal or hexagonal.
