Abstract
To improve the heat transfer properties in fusion fuel pellets, particularly glass pellets containing e.g. deuterium-tritium, a gas of better heat-transfer properties and more especially helium, is introduced into the pellet. Ensures that the pellets, filled with the fusion fuel at ambient temperature and high pressure by diffusion, is condensed uniformly on the walls when cooled to very low temperature. Helium is used as the preferred gas because it remains gaseous and provides not only conductivity in the gas but also heat transfer by convection.
