Abstract

A hormone composition for implantion in animals to accelerate growth and fattening comprises a progesterone and an estrogen. Hormone composition to give increased growth and fattening with improved utilisation feed when administered at levels of 0.2-0.8 mg/kg body wt. of estradiol and 1.2-2.5 mg/kg body weight of progesterone. The progesterone is pref. substituted and esterified especially medroxyprogesterone acetate, megestrol acetate, melengestrol acetate or norethisterone acetate. The estrogen is preferably an ester especially estradiol benzoate or estradiol dipropionate.
