Abstract

The prosthesis is for use inside the body in bone surgery, and comprises a core of the most convenient metal, from the point of view of manufacture and use, protected by a thin layer of chemical insulating material fully adhering to it and protecting it from attack by any matter which might come in contact with it. This layer is in turn covered, partly or wholly, with a fully-adhesive product to give the surface condition desired. The metal core can be of high-strength metal, with a high modulus of elasticity, a high resistance to fracture, and easily weldable, shaped and/or machined, also with a high resistance to corrosion and suitable for precision casting, and is typically a nickle-cobalt-molybdenum alloy.
