Abstract

A wall or ceiling covering fabric, or a fabric for a screen comprises a non-woven fibrous mat in which lines of stitching are formed from synthetic yarn which is capable of contraction. The stitching forms a zig-zag pattern on the reverse face of the mat and a straight line on the front face of mat. After stitching the yarn is contracted so that it causes the mat to form corrugations between the lines of stitching on the front face. The fabrics is easy to fix in position and cheap to produce. The fabric may be made from glass fibre mat and is therefore inflammable.
