Abstract

The dental reamer comprises three portions (1, 2, 4), with a first extremely flexible smooth guide portion (1) and immediately adjacent to this a second portion (2) with a cutting or chip-removing profile (3). Adjacent to this is a third portion (4) forming the instrument shaft. The cutting profile comprises a plastics base (6) which encases the second instrument portion and in which is embedded an abrasive powder. The three portions form a single rod-like member with hook-like projections in the region of the second portion to interengage the plastics base.
