Abstract

A carriage can be stopped to receive a package, slowed down so the the package can be discharged onto a rack, stopped at a waiting position, or loaded at the loading station. Each carriage has a drive motor for its wheels which are guided and steadied by a track, and incorporates a mechanism for tilting its carrying surface for discharge. Suspended under the carriage is a control device, actuated through contact alongside, to speed up or slow down the drive and to tilt the carrying surface to right or left. The system is operated by an electronic control system at e.g. the loading point with actuator buttons for an operator.
