Abstract

The mould discs are optically shaped to define between them mould cavities for upwards of four lenses. The causing is of rigid material e.g., metal. Pref. the discs are of ground glass. The sleeve is of silicone rubber with a continuous slit along the top to allow opening for insertion of the discs and provide a casting gate. The casing is in two semi-cylindrical halves hinged together, with end plates and sealing gaskets on the bottom half, feet, and securing latches. The top half has pouring and vent holes.
