Abstract

The bumper (1) is hollow throughout its length, preferably U shaped with a front face (1a) and upper and lower faces (1b) (1c) and a rear closing face (1d). Two spaced opening (2) are formed in the front face (1a) to admit air which escapes by orifices (3) at the ends of the bumper. Two reinforcements (4) are placed between the openings, for stiffening purposes. Deflectors (5) can be fitted near the orifices (3) to direct the air flow in the ideal direction. This current of air acts against dirt thrown forward from the front wheels due to centrifugal force. Particularly applicable to off road heavy vehicles.
