Abstract

Equipment for agitating and discharging loose goods from silos consisting of a disc centrally positioned on silo bottom and driven about its axis in horizontal plane. Mounted on the top of the disc is an agitating and scraping device which is freely pivoting in horizontal plane about an axis positioned away from the axis of rotation of the disc. With the axis of the agitating and scraping device rotating with the disc the position of the agitating and scraping device above the silo floor level is determined by the relation between the driving torque of the disc and the resistance of the silo contents. The agitating and scraper device is curved with the radius equal to distance between its pivoting axis and the axis of rotation of the disc. In one extreme position it scrapes the whole silo floor when the resistance of the silo contents is minimal and is positioned within the disc surface when the resistance of the silo contents in maximal.
