Abstract

A lower polystyrene/polyethylene shallow tank contains the water reserve. The polyethylene covers only one of the surfaces and helps to insulate the water against temperature variations. The upper part is composed of a polystyrene moulding in the form of numerous plant containers, produced from one sheet so that they are attached to one another. Between the containers are filler holes to supply the lower part with water. The containers can be filled with soil or gravel and have a conical hole in their lower surfaces filled with glass wool, in contact with the water below. Bundles of wicks can be passed through the holes instead of the glass wool.
