which is neat and attractive in appearance, relatively inexpensive to manufacture and otherwise well adapted for the purposes for which the same is intended.
Other objects and advantages reside in the details of construction andoperation as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming `part hereof, wherein like numerals refer to lik Figure l is a vertical longitudinal sectional View.
Figure 2 is a horizontal sectional view taken substantially on a line 2--2 of Figure l.
Figure 3 is a fragmentary longitudinal sectional view of the bottom of the tank lining showing the spacing collars for the water inlet and drain pipes, and
Figure 4 is a fragmentary bottom plan view of the lining showing one of the spacing collars.
Referring now to the drawings in detail, wherein for the purpose of illustration I have disclosed a preferred embodiment of the invention, the numeral 5 designates the outer shell of the tank which may be constructed of any suitable material, such as metal, china, or other plastic material, having the water inlet pipe 6 and drain pipe 1 extending upwardly through the bottom thereof.
Positioned in the tank is a metal liner 8 having its walls spaced from the walls of the tank and with the upper edge of the walls or the liner terminating slightly below the upper edge of the walls of the tank, as shown to advantage in Figure 1 of the drawings.
The bottom of the liner is also formed with an opening 9 through which the water supply pipe 6 i a extends and an opening Ill through which the drain pipe 1 extends.
A collar II is welded or otherwise suitably secured to the bottom of the liner in the region of the opening 9 and through which the water supply pipe 6 extends, and a .similar collar I2 is also welded or otherwise suit ably secured to the bottom of the liner in the region o1' the opening III for receiving the drain pipe 1, the collars II and I2 spacing the bottom of the liner above the bottom of the tank. Rubber gaskets I3 and I4 are positioned between the lower edges of the collars II and I2, respectively, and thebottom of the tank to provide a liquid tight seal therefor. 1
Between the liner 8 and the outer shell 5 of the tank is placed a filler I5 of insulation material, the filler being packed between the bottom of the liner and the bottom of the shell of the tank, as well as between the walls of the liner and the walls of the tank, as shown to advantage in Figures 1 and 2 of the drawings.
The top of the ller is sealed by a waterproof plastic cement I6 which closes the space between the liner 8 and the shell 5 of the tank and is ilush with the upper edge of the shell.

The provision of the insulation ller I5 not only serves to reduce the formation of condensation on the exterior of the tank, but alsoserves to muiiie the flow of the water during the flushing action. Y

Havingl thus described claim is:
1. `A tank including a bottom, walls and an open top, said bottom having water inlet and drain pipes extending therethrough, a lining in the tank including a bottom and walls and also having openings in the bottom receiving said pipes, said walls of the lining being spaced from the walls of the tank, collars spacing the bottom of the lining from the bottom oi' the tank and surrounding the respective pipes, and an insulation filler between the lining and the tank. 1

A tank including a bottom, walls and an open top, said bottom having water inlet and drain pipes extending therethrough, a lining in the tank including a bottom and walls and also having openings in the bottom receiving said pipes, said walls of the lining being spaced from the walls of the tank, collars secured to the underside of the bottom of the lining and spacing the latter from the bottom of the tank, gaskets between the bottom of the tank and the lower edge of the collars, said collars surroundi g the theu invention what I v respective pipes, a iiller of insulation material CHARLES P.
