Abstract

The cladding panels have the two outer sheets bolted (26a, 26b, 28a, 28b) to inner polyurethane foam core layers (18) using internally threaded spacer sleeves (20, 22). The sleeves are embedded in the core and act as spacers for the outer sheets. The connection purports to increase panel shear strength and resistance to temperature warping, particularly for external panels. External bolt heads (30, 32) (as opposed to those on the hidden panel face) are recessed into the panels and at abutting panel edges the connection has a cover plate (24) and longitudinal shear pins (42) to effect the panel joint, the interspace being mortar filled (40).
