Abstract

There is oen partition between each box. The partitions (2), (3) and (5) of wood or other suitable material are reinforced along the edges with inset metal strips (2a), (3a) etc. each carrying mortice. Horizontal square bars (9) carry tenons (9b) on their four sides which fit into the mortices (8). The back (10) of each letter box has fixing holes (10a) and is of steel sheet and is placed against a wall. The front of the box has a lockable letter flap. The sides of the assembly are protected by plates (22) which have tapering openings which cooperate with the tenons of the bars (9) at the side of the assembly.
