Abstract

A system employing separately excited D.C. traction motors and having great flexibility, covers regeneration by using a device comparing a voltage proportional to the braking current with a voltage varied by the brake handle, which also controls the motor excitation during braking. A diode is used, the anode being connected to the negative of the supply. The cathode is also connected to the cathodes of diodes allowing passage of the regenerated current. The anodes of these latter diodes are connected to a voltage comparator.
