Abstract

Fabrication of lateral walls of plastic foam covered interior sprung mattresses whereby the units edges are completed by the foam filling of a tissue sealed U cavity. Penetration of foam into interiors and overlapping etc. is prevented. Initially the lateral walls are enveloped in a tissue band 7, folding to a U profile then the mattress is furnished with horizontal upper and lower edge tissue sheets 5, 6, slightly overlapping the wall covering bands 7 externally, and preparation for injection is completed by positioning upper and lower foam plaques 2, 3 also overhanging. The peripheral U cavity is then foam filled by injection 9.
