Abstract

Stable animal fodder concentrate having a high content of essential biofactors, e.g. aminoacids, esp. lysine, vitamins, esp. of B-gp., hormones and enzymes, is prepd. by subjecting the initial aq. substrate contg. essential biofactors and esp. the non-filtered fermented nutrient medium, including bio-compsn. having pH 6-7 (esp. 7.2-7.5), to thermolysis at 50-120 degrees C with simultaneous or subsequent evaporation of water, esp. to form a concentrate contg. 20-100 % solids. Thermolysis is pref. carried out after adding 0.001.0.1% proteolytic enzyme (wt./wt aq. substrate). Aq. substrate may be admixed with a preserving- and/or stabilising agent, pref. consisting of >=1 non-toxic materials which sets concentrate at pH 3-6.5. End concentrate may be mixed with a non-toxic carrier and opt. dried. Suitable carriers are expanded perlite, wood flour, a glycide- and/or protein fodder, e.g. brans and/or hay flour and/or meal and/or cereal pellets.
