Abstract

Galvanized steel pipes are protected from corrosion by treating their internal surfaces with a citric acid soln at temp. above 60 degrees C in a conc. corresponding to 3-15 wt.% with respect of the installations volume, prior to the phosphoric acid passivation treatment. A layer of synthetic resin is deposited after the phosphoric acid passivation stage and dried by hot air blowing.
