Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the formation of zinc white rust on the surface of plated zinc, by treating the surface of zinc-plated steel sheet with a treating fluid contg. 3- aminorhodanine or the treating fluid contg., in addn., org. or inorg. cpd.
CONSTITUTION: A steel sheet plated with zinc is treated with 3-aminorhodanine. The treating fluid may contain either 3-aminorhodanine alone, or, a combination of 3-aminorhodanine and one or more members selected from the group consisting of inorg. cpds., such as colloidal silica, zinc phosphate; org. cpds., such as tannic acid, methacrylester etc,; and inorg.-org. cpds, such as butyl phosphate, amyl titanate. A treating agent contg., in addn. a coating material including polyimide resin etc. may by used. A zinc-plated steel sheet is applied with the treating agent by roller method, dipping method, or electrostatic method etc. and is dried. The surface of the plated zinc is improved in rust-preventive and corrosion-preventive properties, forming no zinc white rust, wet storage stains.
